Wilma Ferrel (Hull) Broyles of Blue Mound, Kansas passed away in her home October 8, 2022, at the age of 98. She was born on January 6, 1924, on a farm between Humansville and Collins, Missouri. Her parents were Robert and Dovie Hull, and she joined a 4-year ol brother Walter. She graduated from Humansville High School. She married Allen Broyles in 1943 and they moved to their farm 3 miles southwest of Blue Mound, Kansas. Wilma enjoyed the farm life very much, which included cooking, canning, and sewing for her family. She also enjoyed gardening, her flowers, artex painting, and reading.
She was a member of the Blue Mound Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Banner Club, Lady Lions Club, Library Club, Woman’s Advance Club, and was a 4-H Leader for many years. Wilma also served for 17 years as treasurer for the Blue Mound Library, donated time, and served as an assistant librarian. She also donated her time for numerous 4ths of July floats. She was also a member of the Barn Church. After raising her family, she became a care giver for her in-laws, as well as her own parents.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Walter and wife Gladys, two children, and second wife Virginia. Her husband Allen, her daughter Phyllis Wilbert, a son Kevin Broyles, a son Dwayne Broyles, daughter in-law Jackie Broyles, a granddaughter Lori Broyles, a grandson James Savage. Wilma is survived by her children Beverly and husband Raymond Harvey of Burlingame, Kansas. Son in-law Ken Wilbert of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Daughter in-law Regina Broyles of Blue Mound, Kansas. Son Terry Broyles of Blue Mound, Kansas. Daughter in-law Connie Broyles of Fort Scott, Kansas. Daughter Barbie and husband Kenny Savage of Fort Scott, Kansas. 14 Grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren.
Service will be held at the Barn Church on Thursday October 13th. Visitation at 10am followed by service at 11am. Burial at Sunny Slope cemetery in Blue Mound, Kansas.
