Susan Marie Ross Pease, age 84, La Cygne, Kansas passed away Friday, June 3, 2022. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 2, 1937 the daughter of Dan and Marie Potter Ross. She graduated from La Cygne Rural High School in the Class of 1955. She attended Pittsburg State University and later Kansas State University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Susan was united in marriage to her high-school sweetheart Donald M. Pease on June 15, 1957, and together they spent 48 years devoted to each other.
Together they built a life they loved, filled with laughter, travel, and adventure. A large part of her life centered around the Linn County Bank, owned by the family from 1946 – 2000, of which she was an integral member of the daily operations and the Board of Directors. Susan has been a life-long member of the LaCygne United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being the organist for 20 years. She was an active member of P.E.O and Past State president, as well as a member of Junior Service League in Olathe, Woman of Year for Alpha Sigma Alpha, proud member of the K-State Singers, and most recently served on the Finance Committee for Tallgrass Creek and took pleasure in being a member of the ukulele group.
Don preceded her in death on July 15, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents and sister Linda Mary Ross DeHoff. Susan is survived by two daughters, Danna Ahnemann and husband Gregg, and Donna Sue Foreman and husband Patrick, two nieces, Brandy Kalinka and Kristin Ross that he treated and loved as his own, three grandchildren, Daniel Peterson, Donielle Edwards, and Dalinda Foreman, six great grandchildren, Layken, Casen, Henry, Charlotte, Violet, and London, and two step grandchildren, John Ahnemann, Diana Ahnemann Torgerson.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the La Cygne United Methodist Church. Private family committal service at a later date in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Susan will lie in state from 1 pm to 6 pm Monday June 6, 2022 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
