Nicholas “Nick” Andrew Metcalf, age 44, of Pleasanton, Kansas died as a result of an accident on October 15, 2023 in Sonora, Kentucky.  He was born the son of John and Margaret Myers Metcalf on July 25, 1979 in Fort Scott, Kansas.  Nick was a graduate of Jayhawk-Linn High School and was a union carpenter by trade.  He enjoyed cutting wood, building birdhouses and feeders, fishing and camping.  Nick also enjoyed collecting, he had a huge collection of cigarette lighters, and was an avid collector of Marvel Comic and Star Wars merchandise.  Nick leaves behind his parents, his loving wife, Melanie Staton, a son, Gabriel John Metcalf, a daughter, Manon Turpen and three sisters, Sherri Jackson, Hope Peterson and Debby McMaster.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to service time.  Burial will follow in the Woodland Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the family to help with expenses and may be sent in care of Schneider Funeral Home P.O.
