Mary Louise Madl, 86, of Mound City, Kansas died on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Life Care Center, Osawatomie, KS. Mary was born February 26, 1933 to Cecil and Margaret (Bruce) Boots. She graduated from Mound City High School with the Class of 1951. On July 24, 1954, Mary married William E. Bill Madl at Argentine, Kansas.
Mary was an accountant for Interstate Savings and Loan. She had also worked at Merriam Heating and Air Conditioning. For many years, Mary was an avid bowler maintaining an average of over 200. She was also a member of American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Bill on December 8, 1999, one brother who died as a child, and her sister, Joan Morris.
Survivors include three sons, Mark and wife Holly A., Daniel and wife Monica, and Roger; five grandchildren, Kim, Katie, Kelly, Rose, and Bryan; and 7 great-grandchildren, Dacey, Rheanna, Rory, Aiden, Molly, Hailey, and Cameron.
A memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. A visitation will be from 10:00 am until service time. Burial will follow at a later date in the Soldiers Lot in Mound City. The family suggests contributions to Animal Haven in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box J, Mound City, KS 66056.
