Marlyn Otis Sutterby

Marlyn Otis Sutterby age 83 of Mapleton, Kansas passed away Monday, July 27, 2020.  He was born October 11, 1936 at Bronson, Kansas the son of Walter and Laura Faye Davis Sutterby.  Marlyn graduated from Blue Mound High School.  He married Virginia Powell on August 25, 1963 in Mapelton, Kansas, she preceded him in death in 2014.  Marlyn spent 6 years in the National Guard. 

Marlyn was an agricultural and livestock farmer throughout his life.  He enjoyed participating in draft horse pulls, riding horses and being a member of the Mapleton Saddle Club.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Peggy McNally.  Marlyn is survived by one son, Kevin Sutterby, one daughter, Marla Sutterby, a brother, Jack Sutterby and wife Bonnie, two sisters, Sharon Lund and Joyce Hueston, a brother-in-law, Tom McNally, a sister-in-law, Opal McClellan, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Marlyn will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 31 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Mound City, Kansas.  Visitation will be from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.  Burial will be in the Mapleton Cemetery.  Contributions are suggested to Mapleton Fire Department or Mapleton Arena Fund and may be sent c/o Schneider Funeral Home P.O.
