Lynda Mae Cook

Lynda Mae Cook, 82, of Wheelerville, Missouri was called home on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Freeman Hospital after a long illness. She was surrounded by her Family. She was born November 13, 1940, in Miller Mo, the Daughter of Frances Marion and Alma Marie Woody. She was united in Marriage to Nathanael Reed Cook Sr. on May 13, 1962. They had 3 children and 45 years of Marriage before he started their life in eternity.

She graduated from Aurora High School where she was a member of the Marching Band. She was a resident of Wheelerville, Missouri most of her life, later Resident in Fort Scott, Kansas. Lynda worked for Juvenile Shoe Company for 32 years then later worked and volunteered at Treasure Lake Resort for several years. While at Treasure Lake she and her family spent time camping, fishing, and making many unforgettable memories. Lynda also enjoyed time with her Bowling league time and Rockin A Saddle Club, The Women’s Auxiliary at the VFW, and the CB Club. Lynda enjoyed every sport she could watch but loved her K.C. Chiefs and the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was the Proud Mother of 2 Daughters and 1 Son. Cheryl and Frank Adamson- Fort Scott KS, Donna and Randy Harris of
Marrionville and Nate and Anne Cook of Verona. Lynda’s light in her life was her Kids and Grandbabies. She doted on them, babysat them, and watched countless Ball Games, Band Competitions, Cheer Events, and many other activities they participated in. Those included 13 Grandchildren, 21 Great-grandchildren, and 2 Great-Great-

Grandchildren. Lynda is survived by her Children, Grandchildren, Brothers, and Sisters. Wayne and Linda Woody of Aurora, Vivian and Gay Eden of Verona, Ronnie Woody of Willard, Dianna Sue and Bill Lawernce of Aurora, and many many Nephews, Nieces, and Friends.

The Family wishes to thank everyone for all the Visits, Calls, and Texts during her stay in the Hospital Lynda appreciated it so much!

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 23rd at Peterson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Maple Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 22nd from 2-4 PM at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the care of Peterson Funeral Chapel.
