Lois Elaine Payne, age 86 of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Lois was born the daughter of Luther and Rebecca Keller Weller on May 4, 1938 in Pleasanton, Kansas. She graduated from Pleasanton High
School in 1956 and married the love or her life Donald “Buddy” Payne on July 28, 1956 at the Pleasanton Christian Church, he preceded her in death on July 10, 2019. Lois work in the post office for several years in Pleasanton, La Cygne and Fort Scott, she retired as postmaster. She loved taking care of her children and working on the farm. But her main passion was to serve the Lord, as she was very involved with her church’s women’s and children’s ministries. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a grandson, Joshua Aaron Leach. Lois is survived by her three children, son Bill Payne (Sally), daughter, Debbie Payne and daughter, Lori Peterson (Perry), a brother, Jim Weller (Phyllis), eight grandchildren, Venecia Rosener, Jeremy Leach, Douglas Frazier, Dylan Frazier, Mike Payne, Nathan Payne, Bryan Payne and Hannah Bryant, sixteen great grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at the Pleasanton Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow in the Littell Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Pleasanton Church of the Nazarene and may be sent in care of Schneider Funeral Home P.O.
