Leo Lyle Ramsey

Leo Lyle Ramsey, age 79, of Colony, Kansas, passed away on April 5,2024, in Garnett, Kansas, peacefully, with family at his side.

Leo was born on March 23, 1945, in Uniontown, Kansas, to Lyle and Anna May (Rogers) Ramsey. Leo attended school in Uniontown and graduated with the class of 1963 and attended Pittsburg State University. He served his country in the Army National Guard.

Leo was a man of faith with hard work ethic and dedication to his family and businesses. He enjoyed meeting people and being social. Leo followed in his dad’s footsteps, as he owned the school buses for Crest School District and later became the school bus manager. His lifetime careers included sales and marketing for several firms, being especially proud with creating veteran memorials. Even after retirement, Leo kept busy working on trailers and in his shop.

He was married to Kathy (Baker) Odaffer on May 22, 1992, in Pittsburg, Kansas.

Leo is preceded in death by his parents; his twin brother Lee Ramsey and son, Glen Odaffer; nephews, Kelly Danenhauer and Travis Ramsey.

He is survived by loving wife Kathy, of the home; son, Lance(Jill) Ramsey, of Lone Elm, Kansas; daughters, Rhonda Mosby, of Colony, Kansas, Karen (Russ) Andrews, of Burlington, Iowa, Jo Odaffer, of Summerville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Kellen, Jory, Krysta, Amanda, Dylan, Seth, Mason; great-grandchildren, Everett, Willow, Whit, Cale; siblings, Dan(Judy) Ramsey, of Uniontown, Kansas,Lucille Danenhauer of Denver, Colorado and Mickey(Kris) Ramsey.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on April 12, 2024, at High Point Cowboy Church, Colony, Kansas. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service, at 10:00 A.M. Inurnment will take place privately with family at a later date. Memorial contributions are suggested to Good Shepard Hospice or High Point Cowboy Church and can be left in the care of the funeral home.
