Ken “Fat Daddy” Koechner

Ken Koechner, aka “Fat Daddy”, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2022.  He was born on October 9, 1957 in Kansas City Kansas the son of Norbert and Marjorie Woltkamp Koechner. Fat Daddy was a man of many words.  He loved his family and he loved his friends.  A man that never spoke of his accomplishments, but, was incredibly proud of them.  He loved operating equipment, whether it be mowing pasture, raking hay, digging dirt or taking buggy rides.  He was never in a hurry to go anywhere but enjoyed where he was going and where he was coming from.

His passion was the kids and guns, but most of all his wife. He enjoyed planting pumpkins with the grandkids every year and loved how many others he was able to share his bountiful crop with. He always enjoyed his gambling trips with friends, either to Vegas or the local casino with “co-oping” being always the best bet.  He was the life of every party and he never met a stranger.  His BBQ was the best, even though Donna cooked it…PR man was a very important role! His words of wisdom were actually a fact. He loved traditions, no matter what they were. He was king of “let’s have a drink and think about, Picasso never made a painting overnight.

He would jew a blind man out of his walking stick. His yard always looked like a golf course and Better Homes and Gardens was on the way to photograph it. He lived in God’s Country, just ask him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Marjorie, and a brother, Steve Koechner. Fat Daddy is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Donna, son Shaun(Sherry), daughter, Samantha(Bret), grandchildren, Grant, Allie, Konnor, Kennedi and Kash, four brothers, Mike, Gene, Scott, and Alan, Godmother, Della Mallen, Godson, Winston Koechner, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many many friends. He was known by many, and loved by all.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.  Memorial Contributions can be made to Linn County Care to Share.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
