John Frederick “Jack” Howell, age 86, La Cygne, Kansas passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023.  He was born in Fort Scott, Kansas on January 20, 1937 the son of Fred and Catherine Kunz Howell.  He graduated from Fort Scott High School and served his country in the United States Army.  Jack was employed as a communication technician for AT&T before retirement.  He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, feed and watching birds.  He was also a sports fan.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Catherine.  

A Rosary will be prayed at 10 am Thursday, July 20, 2023 at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in La Cygne.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am following the Rosary.  Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City, Kansas.   Memorial contributions are suggested to La Cygne Library or Our Lady of Lourdes.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
