Joan Lauretta Cox, 89, of Fort Scott passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Hillside Guest Home. She was born on June 22, 1936, in Fulton, Kansas, the daughter of Floyd Leo and Edna W. (Golden) Cox.

Joan graduated from Fulton High School, and worked for many years as a Self-employed Housekeeper. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fort Scott, The Olive Chapter #13 Order of the Eastern Star and had been a member of the Fidelis Deo White Shrine #6. Joan loved to play the piano.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2026, at the West Liberty Cemetery with Pastor Christopher Eshelman officiating.
