Gerald Ray Fairbanks

Gerald Ray Fairbanks, age 84 of Hume, Missouri passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.  Gerald was born on July 20, 1936 in Venus, Nebraska the son of George Newell and Emira Beggs Fairbanks.  Gerald “Pops” was a heavy equipment operator through the years and enjoyed playing cards, going to yard sales, tinkering with firetrucks, fishing, camping and drinking margaritas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, George Larson, and four sisters, Susie, Nedra Norton, Deanne Cornish and Phyllis Christensen.  Gerald is survived by a son, Gary Fairbanks and wife, Kathy, two brothers, Johnny Crawford Boham and George Fairbanks, two sisters, Edna Fairbanks and Betty Nenning, eight grandchildren, Jon Fairbanks, Jessie Myrick, Jamie Rogers, Jeff Fairbanks, Katie Nichols, Jessie Ellifrits, Jason Courter and Bryant Courter, twenty-two great grandchildren, Jared and Jordan Fairbanks, Colton, Jacee and Myla Rogers, Kamden Staton, Kyler and Kase Myrick, Gunner and McKenna Fairbanks, Chloe, Bailey, Leah and Miley Myrick, Beau Lidtke, Kaelyn Nichols, Jaxon Perez, Gannon Ellifrits, Gavin, Kamae and Beasley, and one great great grandchild, Cali Cunningham.

Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  Graveside Service will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the Butte Cemetery in Butte, Nebraska.  The family suggest contributions to Hume Alliance – Food Pantry.  Online condolences may be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com
