Marlean Janette Roberts, age 66, a resident of Ft. Scott, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025, at her home. She was born September 30, 1959, in Ft. Scott, Kansas, the daughter of Charles E. Elliott, Sr. and Mary Janet Ogle Elliott. She graduated from Ft. Scott High School with the Class of 1978. Marlean was a devoted wife to Weldon Blake Roberts whom she married in 1980. In earlier years, Marlean had worked as a file clerk for Great-West Insurance; however, she mainly worked at home caring for her family. She enjoyed doing yard work and crafts. Some of her favorite times were spent with friends and family gathered around a bonfire listening to music. She was a loving mother and will be terribly missed.
Survivors include her children, Janelle Roberts of Stockton, Missouri, and Mitchell Roberts of Ft. Scott. Also surviving are Shawn Cameron of Ft. Scott who provided Marlean’s care the last years of her life; and grandchildren, Kandi and Isabel Rodriguez and Charlie Nunley, as well as two brothers, Charles Elliott, Jr., (Jenny) of Ft. Scott and William Elliott (Susan) of Henderson, Tennessee. Marlean was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon, on May 9, 2020. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Elliott.
