John Clayton Bowman, age 81, Parker, Kansas passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1944 in Goodrich, Kansas the son of John Thomas “Tom” Bowman and Carrie Theodoshia Shafer Bowman. John attended Parker Rural High School. He worked as a carpenter. He could fix or build anything he set his hands to. John was united in marriage to Marilyn Morgan on January 3, 1963 and to this union were born two sons. John was united in marriage to Loree Kay Smith on May 28, 1970 in the First Baptist Church in Mound City, Kansas. To their union 3 children were born. John was a very faith filled man. All who knew John knew of his love and devotion to the Lord. His devotion to attending church faithfully began at an early age at the little country church in Goodrich Kansas. He and Kay currently attend The Barn Church of Blue Mound, Kansas. John’s greatest joys were his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son, Dale Eugene Bowman, a brother, Russell Dale Bowman, and sister, Eva Lucille Bowman. John is survived by his wife, Kay, children, John Clayton Bowman Jr. “JC” (Margie), Cheryl Loree Webber (Jason), Aaron Mathaniel Bowman(Trish), and Joyce Baker (Andy), a brother, Clyde Thomas Bowman (Sharon), eleven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 am Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City Chapel. Burial in Goodrich Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm Friday, August 22, at the Mound City Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Parker Library.
