Lexi Marlene Strickler

Lexi Strickler, age 62, of Iola, Kansas, passed away August 8, 2025, at St. Luke’s on the Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri.

Lexi Marlene Hastings was born to John D. and Mary Ann Stumfoll Hastings on August 23, 1962, in Wichita, Kansas. Lexi was raised with a strong faith in God, and was saved and baptized at the Grace Baptist Tabernacle. Lexi graduated from Bronaugh High School in Missouri in 1980 and went on to attend Arlington Baptist University in Texas. Following her time in college, Lexi moved back to Kansas, where she raised her three children. In 2010, she met Doug Strickler, her soul mate, and they were married in a beautiful ceremony in Maui, Hawaii, on February 4, 2016.

Lexi held various jobs throughout her life, but her greatest passion was farming. Growing up on a farm instilled in her a deep love for the land, a love that drew her back to make farming her final and most cherished work.

She enjoyed attending concerts, reading her Bible, keeping up with the news, and traveling with Doug. Time with her grandchildren brought her great joy, as did being surrounded by family, friends, and her beloved canine companions.

Lexi was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Alisa Ann Hastings.

Lexi is survived by her husband Doug Strickler of the home; children, Gabe Kincheloe of Killeen, Texas, Amara Carrell and husband Ivan of Nevada, Missouri, Ieisha Halford and husband Seth of Plattsburg, Missouri, bonus children, Sabrina Callahan and husband Eric of Dallas, Texas, Skylar Strickler of Dallas, Texas and 12 grandchildren; brother, Brad Hastings and wife Ronda of Grants, New Mexico and sister, Renee Hastings of Frontenac, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., at Iola First Christian Church, Iola, Kansas. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Iola, Kansas. Lexi’s family will greet friends on Friday evening, August 15, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Iola First Christian Church. Memorials are suggested to ACARF and can be left in the care of the funeral home. Condolences for the family can be left at www.feuerbornfuneral.com.
