Gary Ray Johnson, age 90 of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on May 28, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born the son of John Harms Johnson Jr, and Ella Naomi Nighswonger-Johnson on March 10, 1935 in Viola, Kansas. Gary graduated from
Bronaugh high school in 1953 and joined the United States Air Force. After being discharged from the Air Force, he married Regina “Jean” Bender on November 8, 1958 in Ambler, Pennsylvania, she preceded him in death on August 31, 2012. He spent his career in civil service as an airplane mechanic, working at the Whiteman Air Force Base. He loved to fish and wood carving, carving many walking sticks and clocks. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and seven siblings, Johnnie, Kenneth, Ada, Erma, Hazel, Jean and Helen. He is survived by two sons, Brian Johnson (Robin) and Donald Johnson (Debbie), five grandchildren, Daniel, Kris, Terry, Samantha and Allen Johnson and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Monday, June 2, 2025 at the Schneider Funeral Home in Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 10 am until service time. Burial will follow at the Pleasanton Cemetery.  Contributions are suggested to the Boy Scouts of America and may be sent in care of Schneider Funeral Home P.O.
