Jo Sisseck

Jo C. (Pruitt) Sisseck, 75, Nevada, Mo., went home to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023. Jo was born Dec. 4, 1947, in Fulton, KS., to William J. Pruitt and Barbara A. (Eastwood) Pruitt. She was united in marriage to Lloyd E. Sisseck on Dec. 11, 1965, in Liberal, Mo.

Jo was raised in the Ft. Scott area and attended school at Ft. Scott Christian Heights. Following high school, she married the love of her life. She was employed as a waitress at Firpen Bob’s, as a seamstress at Keys Work Clothes, and as a nurse's aide at Medicalodges. She dedicated the rest of her working years to owning her own licensed daycare and caring for many children in the Nevada, Mo. area.  In addition to her other jobs, Jo enjoyed tanning, shopping, “going to the movies,” which those close to her knew meant people-watching, decorating, and crafting. She loved riding with Lloyd to check cattle, and
spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Jo’s family meant everything to her. They knew that they were welcome in her home even if she wasn’t there. She was the kind of Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother (Gigi) that gave with an altruistic spirit.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life, Lloyd E. Sisseck, on Jan. 23, 2015; two brothers, John Pruitt and his wife Sharon, who survives the home, and Patrick Ogle.

Jo, is survived by her children, Gary Sisseck and his wife, Tammy, Carthage, Rhonda Gerths and her husband, Don, Nevada, Ken Sisseck and his wife, Niki, Nevada, and Michele Murray and her husband, Todd, Nevada; eight grandchildren, Mariah and her husband, Matthew Walsh, Dakota Sisseck and his wife, Courtney, Kalee and her husband, Jimmie Dye Jr., Kaleb Williams, Austin Sisseck and his wife, Sadie, Kiana  and her husband, Jorge Aguilar, Blair Murray and her fiancé, Trevor Seitz, and Riley Murray; eight great-grandchildren, Lacyn, Joey, Kenzee, Isabel, Ellie, Hadley, Hallie, and Westyn; one brother, William Pruitt and his wife, Connie; two sisters, Betty and her husband, Ed Christiansen, Debra and her husband, Allen Sisseck; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, other loved ones, and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26th  at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Pastor Curtis Walsh officiating. Interment will follow in Moore

Cemetery, Nevada. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Ferry Funeral Home, in Nevada.
