Lavera Mae (Wills) Wood

Lavera M. Wood, age 72, of Spring Hill, Kansas passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Olathe Medical Center.  She was born the daughter of Leroy and Hazel Fern (Leonard) Wills on April 19, 1951 at Fort Scott, Kansas.  Lavera obtained an associate’s degree and was an office manager for the State of Kansas employment services.  She married Dennis Wood on September 23, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Lavera was a lifetime member of the International Association of Workplace Professionals and also a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxillary VFW #6397 in Garnett, Kansas.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Norman Leroy Wills.  Lavera is survived by her husband, Dennis, two brothers, David and Raymond Wills, three nephews, Bryce, Casey and Diamond, a niece, Caitlyn Bell, and five great nieces, Kayla, Shelby, Emily, April and Sadie.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm, Friday, June 30, 2023 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  The family suggests memorial contributions to American Heart Association of American Cancer Society, these may be sent in care of the funeral home to:  Schneider Funeral Home P.O.
