James Walter “Jim” Gabbert, age 93, Prescott, Kansas passed away Wednesday, June 14, 2023.  He was born in Grandview, Missouri on November 21, 1929 the son of Chester and Lois Sherbahn Gabbert.  Jim was united in marriage to Margaret Ellen Wright on February 12, 1956.  He was a devoted family and dairy farmer.  He was also involved in civic organizations, including, Jayhawk Linn USD 346 School Board, FMHA Board and was a 4-H Leader.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Paul Gabbert, and a sister, Elinor Waddell.  Jim is survived by his wife, Margaret, son, Wayne Gabbert and wife Janet, two daughters, Laurie Gabbert, and Shirley Gabbert, a sister, Carol Grantham, three grandchildren, Amanda, Darrell and Seth, and four great grandchildren, Henry, Harper, Hudsyn, and Hadlee.  

Visitation will be held 5 to 7 pm Monday June 19, 2023 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.  Memorial Contributions are suggested to Jayhawk Linn FFA or Linn County 4-H Council.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
