Betty M. Harris, age 94, Prescott, Kansas passed away Monday, January 16, 2023. She was born in Butler, Missouri on July 22, 1928, the daughter of Virgil and Myrtle Bledsoe Wood. She graduated from Prescott High School. Betty was united in marriage to Jimmy Harris on December 13, 1947, in Arcadia, Kansas. He preceded her in death on December 23, 2011. She worked at several different jobs including fifteen years at Western Electric and five years at the IRS.
She was a member of the Prescott United Methodist Church and the UMW. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Alan Harris, a daughter, Karen Hopper, three brothers, Leon, Jim and Web Wood, a sister, Estelle Ferrell, and a granddaughter, Susan. Betty is survived by two sons, Jim Harris and wife Deb, and Jack Harris, a daughter, Linda Parks, thirteen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 10:30 am Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Burial in the Prescott Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Friday, January 20 at the Pleasanton Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Olathe Hospice House.
