Doris L. Lindell

Doris L. Lindell, age 90 of Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022. Doris was born the daughter of Ross and Audrey Hixson Huckaby on June 25, 1932 in Mound City, Kansas.  She graduated from Mound City High School.  She married Charles Alvin Lindell at Mound City, Kansas on May 4, 1952 to this union five children were born. Over the years, Doris taught Sunday School for 45 years at the Pleasanton Christian Church, grew multiple gardens both vegetable and flower, milked cows, bucket fed calves, raised chickens. 

She participated in many community ice cream socials and potlucks. Her kids and grandkids loved her Saturday morning waffles, she was the best cook ever making Italian cream cakes.  She was a seamstress making kids clothes, dresses, tops and shorts, Doris also was a self made beautician, “famous” for permanents given.  Doris loved attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities whether it was sports or 4-H. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Harold Huckaby, a sister, Carol Johnson and a great grandson, Oliver.  She is survived by her husband of seventy years, Charles Lindell, three daughters, Debra Harkleroad (Marty) and Karen Cobb (David) and Nancy Keeton (Craig), two sons, Dennis Lindell and Brian Lindell (Heather), a sister, Dorothy New (Charles), twelve grandchildren, Sarah and Ashley, Michael, Jennifer, Laura, Amanda, Maria, Christine, Jessica, Craig, Taylor, and Keaton, eleven great grandchildren, Bryce, Joshua, Lane, Cameron, Abby, Henry, Avery, Levi, Riley, Kate, Grace, and Charlie and one great great grandchild, Tobi.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.  Visitation will be from 10 am until service time at the chapel.  Burial will follow in the Littell Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions are suggested to the Pleasanton First Christian Church and may be sent in care of the funeral home to Schneider Funeral Home P.O.
