Harry Lee Armstrong, age 87, La Cygne, Kansas passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021. He was born on December 25, 1934 in La Cygne, Kansas the son of Harry Clyde and Olive Ada Colson Armstrong. He graduated from La Cygne High School in the Class of 1953. He was united in marriage to Darlene Hoaglan in August of 1953. To this union, four children were born. The marriage ended in divorce. He later married Beverly Cummings in March of 2004. She preceded him in death on June 18, 2015. Lee worked as a machinist at Taylor Forge in Paola, Kansas. He was a member of the Boilermaker’s Union Local #84. He enjoyed hunting and target practice.
He liked to play golf, take drives, and working on metal made projects. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, Vaughn and Russell Armstrong, and George, Loren, and Cecil Repp. Lee is survived by two sons, Wilbur A. Armstrong(Roselynn), and Dean Armstrong, two daughters, Kathy J.Waldmer(Mike) and Darla L. Armstsrong, a stepson, John Sapp(Michelle), a stepdaughter, Katie Fraizer(Jim Thompson), five grandchildren, six step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, seven great step-grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Graveside funeral service will be 1 pm, Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Benjamin Cemetery, Amoret, Missouri. Lee will lie in state from 9 am to 4 pm Thursday, December 30, and from 9 am to 12 noon Friday, December 31 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
