Emma June Croan, age 88, Mound City, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021. She was born in Pawnee Station, Kansas on June 25, 1933 the daughter of George and Ruby Thompson Price. She graduated from Mound City High School in the Class of 1951. Emma was united in marriage to Lewis Croan on February 6, 1955. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2019. She worked for the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Linn County Department of Motor Vehicles and the Big Dollar Store. She was a member of the Mound City Christian Church and the Order of Eastern Star. She and Lewis enjoyed trips with S.A. and Barbara to the casinos and she loved to be the hostess of meals and events, making everyone feel important.
She was also preceded in death by an infant brother, George Edward Price, two brothers, Don and Doug Price, and a grandson Matthew. Emma is survived by a daughter, Lisa Hammons and husband Chris, two sons, Dean Croan and wife Rhonda, and Brent Croan and wife Pam, a sister, Cheryl Poole and husband Frank, five grandchildren, Ian, Isaac, Derick, Austin, and Amy, and five great grandchildren, Madison, Eli, Karleigh, Allen and Cael.
Funeral service will be 11 am Monday, October 8, 2021 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial will be in the Curry Cemetery.
