Vivian Lucile Bright, age 93, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Thursday April 8, 2021. She was born in La Cygne, Kansas on April 4, 1928 the daughter of Raymond and Leona Dodge Vail. Vivian graduated from a one room school house in Lacygne. She was United in marriage to William Bright on January 29,1947.
She was a housewife and raised 8 children. She will be remembered for her old fashioned strawberry shortcake. She was an amazing cook and could cut up a whole chicken and fry it. She also made an amazing pineapple upside down cake.
Vivian is survived by 2 sisters Fern Brashear and Joan Stinnette, 8 children Janet (Jim) O’Brien, Roy (Kim) Bright, Gene (Carol) Bright, Charles (Denese) Bright, Dale Bright, Mary (Bob) Casey, , Pam (Marty) Carroll, and Jeannie Kerr. 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren. And several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her husband, parents, 4 infant siblings and Leland, Herschel and Herman Vail, a grandson Eric O’Brien, and a great grandson Tyler.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be from 10 am to service time. Burial will be in the Woodfin Cemetery. Vivian will lie in state Tuesday at the Schneider Pleasanton Chapel.
