Melvin Tinsley Jr

Melvin Tinsley Jr was the 4th child born to Melvin Tinsley Sr and Orpha C Osborn on October 5th, 1927 on a farm north of Xenia, KS.

He was an inquisitive boy who learned to hunt, fish and work the land. That hard work and dedication taught him many skills in his lifetime. Junior worked for both Linn and Miami county, driving dump trucks and motor graders.

He also worked for some of the largest construction companies in the Kansas City area. He raised lemon and white Goodman hounds in his early years. He loved to hunt, fish, grow huge gardens, raised beef cattle and provide food for his critters! His greatest love was of Hobby Farming and hunting in his retirement years. his boys were his pride and joy. Belgian Draft Mules; Tom and Jerry, Rick and Sydney, and his hunting mule Toby. He loved to drive around to visits his friends and neighbors till dementia wouldn’t let him. His father, mother and siblings preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Mary.
Daughters: Anna (Steven) Lloyd and Claudia (Wesley) Moore.
Grandchildren: James (Nicole) Lloyd, Rachel Lloyd, Meghan Lloyd, and Michael Moore.
Great Grandchildren: Dakota and Aleesa.
“Uncle Junior” is also survived by many Nephews, Nieces and Cousins
He is sadly missed by his hound Susie and grand pup Luke.

And so on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 the struggle of living with dementia/alzheimer’s is complete, it wasn’t easy; but death never is.

THE BEND IN THE ROAD

Sometimes we come to life’s crossroads
And we view what we think is the end.
But God has a much wider vision
And He know it’s only a bend —
The road will go on and get smoother
And after we’ve stopped for a rest,
The path that lies hidden beyond us
Is often the path that is best.
So rest and relax and grow stronger,
Let go and let God share your load
And have faith in a brighter tomorrow.
You’ve just come to a bend in the road.
~ Helen Steiner Rice

Celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.
